WebGünter Dreyer (5 October 1943 – 12 March 2024 [1]) was an Egyptologist at the German Archaeological Institute. In southern Egypt, Dreyer discovered records of linen and oil deliveries which have been carbon-dated to between 3300 BCE and 3200 BCE, predating the Dynastic Period. He originally worked as a chemical laboratory assistant. WebThe extent of the tomb owner’s influence is indicated by the other grave goods with which Tomb U-j was furnished. Discovery of the tomb: Tomb U-j was found and excavated in the early 1990s by a team of archaeologists from the German Center of Archaeology in Cairo – DAIK, under the supervision of Egyptologist, Dr Günter Dreyer.
